About "Seeds of Hope" . . .

Seeds of Hope supports both the Wildwood Soup Kitchen and the Wildwood Food Pantry.

†  Its Goals are:
a.  To raise money and collect food for the Wildwood Food Pantry and for the Wildwood Soup Kitchen.
b.  To raise awareness throughout The Villages and surrounding areas of the existence and needs of the Wildwood Food Pantry and the Wildwood Soup Kitchen.
c.  To work with representatives from congregations in North Sumter County to meet those objectives.

†  How the Campaign Works:
Everyone involved with Seeds of Hope is a volunteer.  There is a zero operating budget; therefore, specific donations cover specific costs. All general donations go 100% to the Kitchen and Pantry. There are no checking or savings accounts. There are no salaries.

To raise funds and collect food, prearranged Congregation-hosted concerts take place each year over a 2-1/2 week period about six weeks before Easter.  All food collected by Seeds of Hope-Wildwood is weighed in at the Wildwood Food Pantry and shared with the Wildwood Soup Kitchen.  All checks and cash are received through the Wildwood Soup Kitchen, and half of the total amount is given to the Wildwood Food Pantry.

Volunteer transport drivers pick up and deliver donated food items.

"Outside of our comfortable homes and great church buildings lie the poorest of the poor in our world, suffering hungry, and sick, longing for just a few crumbs from our 'rich mans' table. And like the rich man, we cannot say that we do not know about the suffering poor; we cannot claim that we don't have the means to help. We, too, will one day stand before God and give an accounting."  (The Hole in our Gospel by Richard Stearns, page 192)
