Born into a loving family in Pembroke Pines, Florida, Mary Jo began singing at a very young age. She began formal voice training at age 15. Soon thereafter, Mary Jo won numerous local and statewide vocal competitions. She attended the University of South Florida on a full music scholarship. She was the premier vocalist for the Pinellas Opera League in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2002. In 2003 she graduated Summa Cum Laude from Palm Beach Atlantic University. For three years she worked as a singing server at Bergamos Italian Restaurant in Orlando, Florida. She was also employed by Walt Disney World Voices of Liberty at EPCOT for their Candlelight Ceremony Christmas Celebration from 2004-2006.
As a sparkling performer, Mary Jo brings beauty and feeling to her vocal interpretations as well as tremendous musical versatility and limitless positive energy. She currently entertains regularly at Katie Belle's in the Villages, where she performs light opera and your Broadway favorites. The Villages is indeed delighted to list this glamorous artist as one of their own.
Mary Jo is married to Jon-Marc MacLean, who is currently serving as pastor at Hope Lutheran Church in the Villages. They welcomed their first child in April 2010: a son named Daniel.
Mary Jo currently has four CDs available. Her first album, "For Good" is a collection of the songs that made Mary Jo famous in the Villages. The following two albums "By Special Request: Act 1" and "By Special Request: Act 2" are collections of Mary Jo's most requested Broadway songs. Also available is a Christmas CD which features favorite Christmas songs, including "Oh Holy Night", "Winter Wonderland", "Silent Night", and "White Christmas". Mary Jo also plans to release two new albums by the end of 2011: Another collection of Broadway and love songs and (by popular demand) a gospel album.
